Mariella and Peppe in the restaurant

After more than 20 years as a tour guide Mariella decided to follow her heart. Her true love, after her family, has always been cooking. In 2004 she took the plunge and opened La Taverna dei Sapori in Monte di Procida, Italy. Mariella draws on traditional Italian recipes and regional cuisine to create dishes that please and surprise almost every palate.

Supported, and at times assisted, by her husband, Giuseppe, and her children, Alesandro and Manuela, she prepares meals six days a week, hosts cooking classes, and is always excited to plan special events.
